A Legend of Zelda RPG
Character Traits
Character traits help you as a player to define what kind of character you will play. Is your character a greedy goron, or a benevolent zora? Are they a vengeful sheikah? Are they a hylian who is stuck at the milk bar all day due to drinking problems? Again, anything is possible. These traits do not require dice rolls of any sort. It is up to the player to simply play the character. Remember, this is a roll playing game, and so you are playing out (in other words acting) the roll of your character. Your character may be like you, or they may not be.
The player by and large decides character traits. And they can really be anything the player wants them to be. Some character traits are good, some may be not so good. It all depends on who your character is and who you want them to be. Just remember when giving your character traits, don’t make them out to be just the most awesome character ever. A good character has nuance to them, they are not a perfect blend of everything awesome. It is always a good idea to throw in something a bit more negative in the mix to help give your character more believability.
There is a list here that gives suggestions for character traits. These do not need to be used but can be helpful. Here are 12 good traits, and 12 bad ones. If you are going to pick through this list, It is suggested choosing 3 traits to start, 2 good and 1 bad, or perhaps vice-versa.
