So what is Temples & Tektites

Well, simply put, it is a tabletop paper and pencil RPG game, sort of like dungeons and dragons. The only difference here is that Temples and Tektites was designed to reflect and emulate game play from the Legend of Zelda series.

For starters, you will need to find some sort of square grid to play on. One made of grid paper covered with plastic, so that it can be drawn on with dry erase markers is good. This way you can create the environment for game play, temples, puzzle solving, and combat, using dry erase markers. You will also need game pieces. Using already made models from other RPGs, or buttons and board game pieces, or even LEGO is a good idea. Of course it is also simple to make your own Zelda themed figures (See Create Figures page).

Secondly, you will need some dice. Most other RPGs use a variety of dice, such as 4-sided dice, 10-sided dice, and 20-sided dice. For Temples and Tektites however, to keep things simple, especially since Zelda is not a strict RPG series, all you will need to play this game is the run-of-the-mill 6-sided dice, preferably three of them to start out with. Thirdly, you will need a game master; someone to run the game, tell the story, and act as the enemy characters. Lastly, you will need paper, pencils, a pen, and an eraser. These will be needed to help you create your character, which will also require a character sheet.
